RESUME: Cet article a pour objet l’étude de la commercialisation du poisson de la pêche
artisanale continentale pratiquée dans le nord de la Côte d’Ivoire. Les besoins en
produits halieutiques de la ville de Korhogo, principale agglomération de cette zone
du pays sont, en partie, satisfaits par une production locale issue de divers espaces
aquatiques. L’objectif de ce travail est donc d’analyser l’incidence de la localisation
des espaces de production sur l’organisation et l’efficacité des circuits de
distribution dans l’approvisionnement de la ville de Korhogo en produits frais de la
pêche dulcicole locale. L’approche méthodologique adoptée s’appuie sur une
exploitation documentaire et des enquêtes de terrain. Les investigations révèlent que
divers facteurs, notamment la distance des espaces de pêche d’avec la ville de
Korhogo détermine la typologie et le fonctionnement des circuits de distribution. Il
en ressort également que l’existence d’un marché de production dans le quartier
Koko représente l’atout sur lequel reposent la distribution et l’accès des populations
à ces produits halieutiques. Par ailleurs, le rôle important joué par les commerçants
incite à la perspective d’une étude complémentaire qui détaillerait le profil de
pauvreté de ces acteurs.

ABSTRACT:

Structure and functioning of distribution channels in the continental artisanal fishery in Korhogo, northern Côte d’Ivoire
The purpose of this article is to study the marketing of fish from the continental
artisanal fishery in northern Côte d’Ivoire. The needs for fish products in the city of
Korhogo, the main agglomeration of this area of the country, are partly satisfied by
local production from various water areas. The objective of this work is therefore to
analyze the impact of the location of the production spaces on the organization and
efficiency of the distribution channels in the supply of the city of Korhogo with
fresh produce from the local freshwater fishery. The methodological approach
adopted is based on documentary exploitation and field surveys. Investigations
reveal that various factors, including the distance of fishing grounds from the city of
Korhogo determines the typology and operation of the distribution channels. It also
shows that the existence of a production market in the Koko district represents the
asset on which the distribution and access of the populations to these fish products
are based. In addition, the important role played by traders encourages the prospect
of a complementary study that would detail the poverty profile of these actors.
