LOGIQUES DE TRANSFORMATION DES VOIRIES URBAINES EN LIEUX DE TRANSPORT A ABIDJAN ET KORHOGO (COTE D’IVOIRE)

RESUME:En Côte d’Ivoire, l’absence d’infrastructures du réseau de transport des taxis artisanaux, malgré leur primauté dans les offres de transport urbain, a poussé les acteurs à transformer les voiries en lieux de transport. A partir de ces lieux d’organisation des dessertes, les syndicats ont mis en place une gestion dont le profit qu’ils en tirent est subordonné à la sous-traitance des titres de transport des municipalités. Dès lors, quelles logiques expliquent-elles la transformation des voiries en lieux de transport dans les villes d’Abidjan et de Korhogo ? L’objectif de l’article est d’analyser les logiques de transformation des voiries de ces deux villes en lieux de transport. La méthodologie s’appuie sur une approche comparative. Les données ont été collectées grâce à des visites de sites et à des entretiens auprès de responsables municipaux et syndicaux ainsi que d’opérateurs.
L’étude a abouti à deux résultats : la logique spatiale explique la transformation des voiries en lieux de transport ; la logique économique révèle l’assimilation des lieux de transport en espaces de vie et de travail.

ABSTRACT:

Logics of transforming urban roads into transport places in Abidjan and Korhogo (Côte d’Ivoire)
In Côte d’Ivoire, the lack of infrastructure for the taxi haulage network, despite their primacy in urban transport offerings, has led stakeholders to transform roadways into places of transport. From these places of organization of the services, the unions put in place a management of which the profit that they derive from it is subordinated to the outsourcing of the tickets of the municipalities. So, what logic explains the transformation of roads in places of transport in the cities of Abidjan and Korhogo? The objective of the article is to analyze the logics of transforming the roads of these two cities into places of transport. The methodology is based on a comparative approach. The data was collected through site visits and interviews with municipal and union officials as well as operators.
The study produced two results: spatial logic explains the transformation of roads into transport places; the economic logic reveals the assimilation of the places of transport into spaces of life and work.
